Frequently asked questions
When packing for a trip to Birmingham, don't forget the essentials like your visa, passport, chargers, camera, some GBP and the correct power adaptor. Clothing wise, check out the seasonality guides and pack to suit the conditions - aka plenty of layers for winter and lighter options for summer. Other necessities include a raincoat, walking shoes, hat, sunglasses and an umbrella. While we pray you’ll have a rain-free stay, it’s highly likely you’ll get a sprinkle or two during your stay.
Birmingham is a big city with lots of accommodation options that can be tailored to your budget and travel plans. With that in mind, the city is connected by an extensive public transport system which will easily help get you from A to B. If you’re keen to get a well-rounded experience and see all the sites, we recommend staying in Downtown Birmingham and Digbeth.

While Birmingham isn’t winning any prizes for year-round sunshine, it does give travellers the chance to experience all four seasons. Summer offers the hottest temps and long, sunny days between June and August, while winter will bring the cold, fog and snow between December and February. If you’re not a fan of the cold and are keen to make the most of your days in Birmingham, we recommend visiting between March and August.
As with any big city, Birmingham offers travellers unlimited adventure and experiences. Spend your time exploring the city’s canal system, indulging your sweet tooth at Cadbury World, wising up at any of the popular museums, taking a day trip out to Malvern Hills and filling your belly with many an English roast.
