It serves as the perfect stopover destination due to its location, transport, and endless attractions. Situated at the crossroads of the world, Singapore offers convenient connections between major cities in Asia, Europe, and beyond.

Changi Airport: An award-winning airport

With world-class shopping experiences and an array of restaurants that cater for everyone's taste buds - there is so much beauty to take in as you walk through each terminal. You will be in awe with incredible digital screens, and beautiful, lush green gardens everywhere, including the butterfly garden which is such a special sight. Then there’s the iconic Jewel Changi which is breathtaking and will captivate you with stunning displays like the Rain Vortex, the world's tallest indoor waterfall.

Tip for visiting the Jewel: you can’t enter it once you have gone through customs so the best option if you want to explore inside is to either go once you have exited the airport or when departing Singapore, get there an hour early to see it before you check in for your flight (if you don’t have time then not to worry! You can still get a beautiful view of it from the Skytrain and they slow down while you pass through)

Changi Airport sets the benchmark and is ranked one of the world's best airports globally with its cleanliness, transportation infrastructure and array of shopping and dining experiences.

Singapore Must-See Attractions and Activities

From iconic landmarks to thrilling theme parks and lush greenery, Singapore has something for everyone.

Let's delve into the must-visit attractions that this captivating destination has to offer.

Marina Bay Sands: One of Singapore's most iconic attractions

One of the most iconic areas in Singapore is Marina Bay, a bustling area renowned for its futuristic skyline and world-class attractions. Marina Bay Sands features a stunning infinity pool perched at the top of three soaring towers. To get to MBS, take a stroll along the waterfront promenade and head up to the SkyPark Observation Deck. Once at the top, soak in breathtaking views of the city skyline where you will be able to view many of Singapore's famous attractions such as Gardens by the Bay, the Merlion, ArtScience Museum and the Formula 1 track - just to name a few. You can also see the Singapore Flyer from Marina Bay Sands, the world's largest observation wheel where you can also embark on a thrilling ride or plan a romantic dinner.

Sentosa Island: A Paradise for Adventure Seekers & Beach Bums

Escape to Sentosa Island, a haven of fun and excitement located just off the southern coast of mainland Singapore. Unleash your inner child at Universal Studios Singapore, where thrilling rides and beloved characters await.

I’ve never experienced rollercoasters like the ones I did here… they were so thrilling and got our adrenaline pumping. There are many zones in the park like Sci-fi City where they have the most amazing 4D Transformers experience, Far Far Away which takes you to a magical fairytale world and then a mummy adventure in Ancient Egypt. They all have unique rides and fun things to do!  In the Lost World Zone, you can watch a live water show based on the famous movie “Waterworld”. They will have you entertained with their comedy and amazing death-defying stunts.

Quick tips:

  • You can get a one-day entry ticket that includes early entry - it starts an hour before the park opens so you can experience many of the highlights before it gets busy
  • You do a lot of walking and in the summer it gets super hot so keep a lookout for all the water dispensers throughout the park to stay hydrated and fill up your water bottles
  • They have lockers to keep all of your bags and goodies. You can hire one for the day for your main goodies and then every couple of rides they have lockers for free where you can keep your small items like phones and sunnies as you can’t go on the rides with them

If time allows, dive into the underwater world at the S.E.A. Aquarium or get up close and personal with dolphins at Dolphin Island.

After a day of adrenaline-filled activities, take the cable car to Siloso Point where you can choose from a variety of Beach Clubs or find a quiet spot on the beach and take in beautiful ocean views while the sun sets. Rumours Beach Club comes highly recommended for its perfect location, great services and delicious food! Sentosa Island offers endless entertainment options, from zip-lining, bungee-jumping and beach activities to world-class resorts and immersive attractions.

Orchard Road: Retail Therapy and Cultural Delights

Orchard Road will leave you in awe with the number of shopping experiences available to you. For avid shoppers and culture enthusiasts, Orchard Road is a must-visit area. This bustling shopping district boasts an array of international department stores, luxury boutiques, and charming cafes. Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of Orchard Road, where you can indulge in world-class shopping and sample authentic Chinese cuisine. Don't miss the opportunity to explore nearby attractions such as the Singapore Botanic Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its lush greenery and serene beauty.

Expert tip

If visiting the top of Marina Bay Sands is on your to-do list when visiting Singapore, make sure you buy tickets in advance to avoid disappointment. At certain times they stop allowing people up unless they have a valid ticket.

Clarke Quay: Captivating nightlife and Riverside beauty

Experience the pulsating energy of Clarke Quay, a lively riverside precinct teeming with bars, restaurants, and entertainment venues. Explore the vibrant nightlife scene as you dine al fresco overlooking the Singapore River or hop aboard a river cruise for a scenic tour of the city. Clarke Quay is also home to historical landmarks such as the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and the vibrant street market of Bugis Street, offering a fascinating blend of tradition and modernity. Even after a day at Universal Studios, I was still looking for some extra fun so we hopped on the Singapore Slingshot which shoots you up 70 meters in the sky and is surrounded by the scenic skyline of Singapore. This is a must-do - I have never had a feeling like this before.

Gardens by the Bay: A Green Oasis in the Urban Jungle

No visit to Singapore is complete without exploring Gardens by the Bay, an enchanting garden oasis nestled in the heart of the city. Admire the otherworldly Supertree Grove, towering vertical gardens that come alive with a mesmerizing light and sound show at night - it's one of the most beautiful light shows I have ever seen and if I had more time I would have gone back to witness it again. Explore the diverse ecosystems of the Cloud Forest which is a real sight when they mist the forest (they mist every 2 hours so make sure you plan to go at the right time) and Flower Dome, home to an array of exotic flora and fauna. Gardens by the Bay is a testament to Singapore's commitment to sustainability and environmental conservation.

Little India and Chinatown: Where bustling and colourful streets come alive

Discover the vibrant cultures and heritage of Singapore by exploring the charming streets of Little India and Chinatown. The streets come alive with a kaleidoscope of colors, scents, and sounds, as holiday-makers wander past bustling markets, ornate temples, and savor the tantalizing aromas of authentic Indian cuisine wafting from the numerous eateries and street stalls. Both offer immersive cultural experiences that celebrate Singapore's diverse heritage and spirit of multiculturalism.

Singapore Cable Car: A unique way of getting around

The Singapore Cable Car provides a unique and breathtaking perspective of Singapore's skyline, offering passengers an unforgettable aerial journey. Connecting Mount Faber Park to the vibrant Sentosa Island, the cable car ride not only serves as a mode of transport but also doubles as a scenic adventure, affording panoramic views of iconic landmarks like Resorts World Sentosa and the one of the world's busiest ports. The Singapore Cable Car experience is a must-do attraction for visitors and locals alike seeking an elevated perspective of this dynamic city.

The ArtScience Museam: An architectural marvel

The ArtScience Museum in Singapore stands as an architectural marvel and a beacon of creativity at Marina Bay. Visitors are invited on a journey of discovery through immersive exhibitions, offering insights into various aspects of human innovation and creativity. From interactive areas exploring the wonders of the natural world to sustainability and the future of technology, the ArtScience Museum has various exhibitions and events throughout the year serving as a platform for education and inspiration. The museum continues to captivate travellers of all ages, creating a deeper understanding and appreciation of art and science that is shaping our world.

World-class cuisine: Take your taste buds on an adventure

Singapore is renowned for its diverse and delicious culinary scene, offering a tantalizing array of flavours that reflect its multicultural heritage. From savoury street food to fine dining Michelin-star restaurants, there's something to satisfy every palate. Signature dishes such as Hainanese chicken rice, a fragrant and tender chicken served with flavorful rice and chilli sauce, and Moosaka, an interactive dining experience, are must-tries for travellers looking for an authentic taste of Singaporean cuisine. The award-winning Chilli-Crab dish is also a must try!. Dining in Singapore is a culinary adventure that promises to satisfy everyone's taste buds.
