Shopping In Denver

Shopping in Denver is an eclectic affair, with the city mixing its love for boutique outlets with some of the best outdoor recreational stores in the country. The city's close proximity to the Rocky Mountains also makes it the perfect place to pick up some hiking gear or perhaps a new pair of skis.

Downtown

A relatively young town, Denver's youthful atmosphere is reflected in the stylish boutiques dotted around its Downtown core. High-end stores abound in Larimer Square between 14th and 15th Street, with fashion boutiques and jewellery stores jostling for prominence alongside some of the city's finest restaurants and bars.

The nearby 16th Street Mall is an I.M. Pei-designed pedestrian mall that doubles as one of Denver's most popular attractions. Lined with eateries and outdoor recreation spaces, it's also the focal point of some of Denver's best shopping. Anchored by the prominent Denver Pavilions – an open-air shopping centre that boasts brand-name chains and a popular cinema – the Pavilions is often a celebrated first stop for shoppers in the city.

Cherry Creek

While Downtown Denver offers an attractive mix of shopping and entertainment options, the nearby Cherry Creek Shopping Center is the place to be for some hardcore shopping. With more than 160 major stores to choose from – including at least 40 brand-name stores exclusive to the area – Cherry Creek, on the southeastern edge of the city, is arguably the premium shopping experience in the city.

Suburban Shopping

A 25-minute drive south from Downtown Denver, the state-of-the-art Park Meadows Mall in Lone Tree is a fully enclosed shopping centre designed to resemble the interior of a Colorado mountain lodge. Featuring a wide variety of department stores and boutique outlets, it's popular with shoppers keen to get out and enjoy an upscale shopping experience away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Valet Parking

When it comes to getting around Denver, valet parking is an attractive feature of many of the city's major shopping centres. For a small fee, you can leave your hire car in the capable hands of a parking attendant and have it conveniently returned to you once you've finished your shopping.

Alternatively, most of Denver's major shopping outlets are readily accessible via public transport, either on the city's comprehensive bus network or via Denver's ever-expanding light rail network.
