Check-in

Stockholm Airport has three main terminals: Terminal 2 and Terminal 4 share a complex and handle mostly domestic and intra-Scandinavian flights, while Terminal 5 is the main international terminal. It’s always a good idea to get to the airport nice and early for your flight, and to confirm check-in times directly with your airline as each may have different requirements. As a general guide, aim for about 1.5 hours before domestic flights, two to 2.5 hours before European departures, and three hours before intercontinental flights. Remember, it’s often possible to check in online in advance via your airline’s website or app – a lekker way to save time on the day of travel.

Baggage

Baggage allowances vary by airline and ticket class, so it’s important to confirm what’s included with your flight booking to avoid any surprises at bag drop! For more specific information on baggage limits, such as the size, weight and number of bags included in your airfare, check with your airline or ask your Travel Expert for assistance. Need to store your bags at Stockholm Airport? Self-service luggage lockers in various sizes are located in Terminals 2, 4, 5 and the SkyCity connection area, payable by credit card. Luggage trolleys are also available at the check-in halls.

Transport and terminal transfers

Looking for the best ways to get to and from Stockholm Airport? There are plenty of ground transportation options available.

The Arlanda Express train is the fastest way to reach Stockholm city centre, running every 15–30 minutes non-stop to Stockholm Central Station in about 20 minutes. It’s quick, efficient and very Swedish – you’ll be sipping coffee in Gamla Stan before you know it.

Flygbussarna airport coaches run frequently to Stockholm city centre and surrounding suburbs, offering a budget-friendly alternative to the train.

Stockholm Airport offers a range of parking options including short-term, long-term and premium lots. Pre-booking online is recommended for the best rates.

Terminals 2 and 4 share a complex and are connected internally. Terminal 5 is adjacent and linked by a pedestrian tunnel through SkyCity. Arlanda South train station serves Terminals 2–4, while Arlanda North station serves Terminal 5.

SJ and Mälartåg regional trains also serve Arlanda Central Station, connecting the airport to Uppsala and Stockholm. These are generally a more affordable option than the Arlanda Express.

Taxis are available outside all terminals. The journey to Stockholm city centre takes around 30–45 minutes depending on traffic.

Car rental agencies are available at the airport. Talk to your Travel Expert about organising car hire for your trip or book it yourself online before you leave.
