Orlando Airport (MCO) welcomes over 55 million passengers every year, making it Florida’s busiest airport and earning it a spot in the top 10 list of busiest airports in the United States! Located approximately 20km southeast of Downtown Orlando, the international airport serves as the gateway to this ‘Theme Park Capital of the World’ - meaning you’ll be just a short ride away from the magic and excitement of Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Studios Florida and SeaWorld Orlando. Orlando Airport operates out of three main terminals (Terminal A, Terminal B and a newer Terminal C) and connects travellers with a network of over 170 destinations all over the world. Wondering where the MCO airport code came from? It actually doesn’t stand for Orlando at all! Instead, it comes from the site’s former military base, McCoy Air Force Base, which closed and was transformed into Orlando International Airport (MCO) back in the mid-1970s.
