Luis Munoz Marin International Airport (SJU)

Official yellow airport taxis operate around the clock from the arrivals level of Terminals A and B/C. Fares are metered as required by Puerto Rico law, with tolls and surcharges added where applicable. 

AMA public buses serve the airport with stops on the departures level at Terminals A, D and E. Routes connect to Old San Juan, Condado, Isla Verde and other areas of the city. 

All major car rental companies have counters on-site at the Terminal B/C ground floor. Talk to your Travel Expert about organising car hire for your trip or book it yourself online before you leave. 

Uber and Lyft pick up passengers at designated curb zones – at Terminal A arrivals and outside Terminal B/C. Follow the signage for ride-share collection points. 

Puerto Rico Airport offers 24-hour garages and long-term parking lots. A free cell-phone waiting lot with 45 minutes of complimentary parking is also available for those picking up passengers. 

Terminals A through E at Puerto Rico Airport are all interconnected by walkways inside security, so there’s no need for separate shuttle services once you’re airside. 

A large number of airlines fly into and out of Puerto Rico Airport, including American Airlines, JetBlue, Delta, United, Southwest, Spirit, Frontier, Iberia, Copa Airlines, Avianca and many more. SJU connects San Juan to major US cities, the Caribbean, Central and South America and Europe. 

As a general rule, you should aim to arrive at Puerto Rico Airport at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international flights. This should give you plenty of time to complete check-in, drop your bags and pass through security. There are plenty of transport options available from Puerto Rico Airport, including official metered taxis, ride-share services such as Uber and Lyft, AMA public buses to Old San Juan, Condado and Isla Verde, and car rental. Taxis and ride-share are the quickest options for reaching the main hotel and tourist areas. 

Yes, Puerto Rico Airport has several lounges including The Lounge – San Juan in Terminals A and C, and the Escape Lounge in Terminal A. Amenities include food, drinks, Wi-Fi and in some cases showers. Access may be possible depending on your ticket class, lounge membership or by purchasing a day pass. Check with the lounge directly or talk to your Travel Expert for more information. 

While there are no hotels within the terminal itself, the Escape Lounge in Terminal A offers shower facilities and a comfortable space to rest. There are also numerous hotels located very close to the airport in the Isla Verde area, many within a few minutes’ drive.
