Frankfurt Airport currently operates out of two terminals (with a third due to open in April 2026) and departing passengers have the option of using airline check-in counters or self-service check-in kiosks where available. A number of rail connections and local bus services run between Frankfurt Airport, the city centre and beyond. For the most efficient journey into Frankfurt’s city centre, look for the S-Bahn S8 or S9 lines, which depart frequently from the Frankfurt Airport Regional Station. Local and long-distance bus connections are also available, including the Lufthansa Express Bus service running direct between Frankfurt Airport and Strasbourg, just over the French border.
