Tree Natural Café 

This Umhlanga eatery is the ultimate healthy hot spot in Durbs serving delicious organic, gluten-free, paleo, dairy-free, superfood-powered grub. The owners also run a yoga studio just across the way, tying in nicely to the holistic healthy vibe of the café. Pop in for a delicious breakfast or lunch, then stroll over to the beach and lighthouse nearby.

Conscious Café

Take a load off your mind at Conscious Café, where everything on the menu is kind to the earth and animals. Plastic straws are also a big no-no in this eco-friendly eatery. Tucked away in the Castle on Main in Hillcrest, this hidden gem has its own sustainable veggie garden to ensure that all their delicious breakfasts and lunches are served with only the freshest, organic ingredients.

In the mood for a little Italian? This new restaurant in Sunninghill puts up tasty Italian cuisine with a vegan twist. Bella Anima (meaning beautiful soul in Italian) creates tantalising veggie cuisine with seasonal menus made with traditional Italian flair. Bellissimo!

Must try: Pesto mushrooms and a trio of bruschetta with marinated brinjals and capers, peppers and olives and tomato and basil

The Fussy Vegan

On the run and looking for a guilt-free meal between meetings? This Blairgowrie-based restaurant offers vegan meals for busy professionals in search of a healthy takeaway option.
