Enjoy a fun filled day at the Dallas Zoo where over 2,000 animals from around the world can be seen and enjoyed. Over 100 acres of exotic enclosures and realistic landscapes take visitors on a journey through the wilds of Africa, the Australian outback and the lush rainforests of South America offering an educational experience like no other.

The whole family will enjoy the many activities and feedings that are held each day and there’s plenty to entertain even the youngest of kids, from pony rides, a delightful carousel and even a wading pool and special children’s zoo.

Getting around the zoo is a breeze and a relaxing ‘Monorail Safari’ takes visitors on a narrated 20 minute tour that winds through the beautiful habitats containing zebras, antelope, gazelles, chimpanzees and much, much more. And while maybe not a great novelty to Australians, the highly popular Koala Walkabout enclosure contains the only koalas in all of Texas.

Koalas ‘Kobi’ and ‘Tekin’ are joined by some of the continents most loved animals from kangaroos and wallabies to emus, kookaburras and the lovable lorikeets. No matter what your favourite animal, chances are that you will find them at the Dallas Zoo.

Primate Place and Gorilla Trail, Cat Row and Giants of the Savanna with its impressive collection of elephants will instantly transport you to the far away places so meticulously recreated.

The Dallas Zoo contains a food court and there is a ‘Zoofari’ Market where many novelty items and souvenirs are available for purchase. Parking is available in the zoo car park. Located just three miles south of downtown Dallas, the zoo can be reached by taking I-35E from the city and exiting at Marsalis Avenue.

The Dallas Area Rapid Transit or DART is a convenient public transport option. Take the Red Line DART service to the Dallas Zoo Station.
