What better way to explore Queensland’s stunning Sunshine Coast than with a leisurely drive along its coastal roads, leading visitors through quaint beachside towns.  Along the way visitors will discover many inviting cafés and restaurants, made perfect for a relaxing tea or coffee, tasty lunch and of course, dessert! From Caloundra on the Coast’s south to Noosa on the north and every town in between, cafés of every sort are plentiful, as well as delightful.  Enjoy stunning views of the sea or the beach, or take part in the popular pass time of ‘people watching’ along one of the vibrant village esplanades.  Here are just a few of the towns that offer great spots for a relaxing café experience and a pleasant setting to match.

Caloundra

Just north of Brisbane at the southern end of the Sunshine Coast, the popular weekend city getaway offers a quiet and relaxing beachside esplanade with an array of cafes and restaurants.  From sea food and Italian to standard Aussie fare there are many establishments to choose from near the popular beachside boardwalk.

Mooloolaba

One of the most popular destinations in all of Queensland, Mooloolaba has become increasingly commercial over the years.  But with its vibrant esplanade, intelligent city planning and beautiful landscaping and beaches, it’s easy to see why this place is so popular.  While the beach isn’t always visible from the esplanade, it’s nice to know that its just steps away.  With a wide selection of food outlets, this is a wonderful destination for a glass of wine, great lunch or dinner or just a coffee and dessert.

Coolum

While Coolum has become increasingly popular it still has a bit of that off-the-beaten-track quality, but in a good way.  Coolum has the modern conveniences one would expect in a seaside holiday town, but the pace is slower and has more of a local feel than that of its busier neighbour to the south, Mooloolaba.  There are many cafés and eating establishments with an enticing array of selections.  The beach is nearby when ready for a leisurely stroll.

Noosa

Noosa is well known for trendy Hastings Street with its many cafés, shops and galleries, making it the perfect place to unwind and to see and be seen.  Excellent food is around every corner here and to top it off, beautiful Main Beach and the headland’s of Noosa National Park are just steps away.
