UPDATE - Bali volcano

Tuesday, September 26, 2017

Indonesia has issued its highest level alert for a volcano in relation to Mount Agung on Bali.

About 10,000 people have already been evacuated, with officials urging people to stay at least nine kilometres (5.6 miles) away from Mount Agung.

"There should be zero public activity within the specified radius in case there is an eruption," warnsed Indonesia's National Disaster Management Agency.

The latest report from Indonesia's volcano observatory for aviation said the likelihood of an eruption appears to be increasing. But that eruptions cannot be predicted with perfect accuracy.

However at this time, Bali's international airport in Denpasar is currently operating as normal.

We will send updates as necessary when it comes in.
