The ongoing strike of staff at Lufthansa, which is scheduled to last until Friday, November 13, is affecting a number of flights on the South African route.

The following flights have been cancelled:

The Department of Home Affairs has begun a pilot project to begin capturing biometric data at South Africa’s international airports. While biometrics are not being taken at this stage, training has already begun at OR Tambo International Airport.

Lufthansa’s cabin crew has announced a week-long strike from November 6 as talks concerning retirement benefits between Lufthansa and UFO, a flight attendants' union, have failed. Industrial action is set to run until Friday, November 13.
