A number of rail connections and local bus services run between Frankfurt Airport, the city centre and beyond. For the most efficient journey into Frankfurt’s city centre, look for the S-Bahn S8 or S9 lines, which depart frequently from the Frankfurt Airport Regional Station. Local and long-distance bus connections are also available, including the Lufthansa Express Bus service running direct between Frankfurt Airport and Strasbourg, just over the French border. The easiest way to transfer between the terminals at Frankfurt Airport is via the free SkyLine train. The service runs every few minutes, 24 hours a day.

As a general rule, you should aim to arrive at Frankfurt Airport at least two hours before your scheduled departure time for domestic flights or travel within the Schengen Area and three hours before long-haul international flights.
