Each seat is equipped with AVOD (audio video on demand) entertainment. Guests will find a 6.5 inch personal screen from which a wide selection of movies and other programs can be enjoyed. There are power outlets for recharging laptops should passengers want to work or enjoy their own entertainment.  

Food and Beverage

Economy Class features a hot meal and complimentary bar and beverage service. Select from Asian and western main choices, all served with a side dish and dessert.  

Business

Enjoy the comfort of an extra wide armchair, electronically controlled with lumbar support, a recline of over 160 degrees and all the personal space you need. Stretch out and put your feet up or extend the seat for a restful sleep. A privacy screen and adjustable, non-obtrusive reading light are just some of the other features available to make your flight a relaxing one. What’s more, the impeccable Business Class service will ensure you arrive at your destination refreshed.

Business class guests will enjoy a wide variety of entertainment on their personal 10.4 inch TV screen. Select from Asian and western programming that includes movies and shows, games, music and much more. Each seat also comes equipped with a power outlet for continued use of laptops and portable electronic devices as well as satellite telephones with global coverage.

Business Class guests are treated to the finest selections of Chinese and western meal options. Each course is meticulously presented and individually served on real crockery. A wide variety of Asian and international spirits, beers and wines are also available to perfectly compliment the meal.

Carry-On

The following allowances apply to carry-on baggage on China Airlines flights:

  • Economy – One 7kg bag per person within size limitations of 56x36x23cm (22x14x9in)
  • Business – Two pieces of carry-on luggage each with a maximum weight of 7kg. The first piece must be within 56x36x23cm (22x14x9in) and the second item limited to a garment bag not to exceed 20cm when folded. 

Each passenger is also permitted to carry a small personal item as cabin luggage such as a handbag, diaper bag, camera case or duty free items.

 

Carry On Baggage

Checked

The checked baggage allowance varies depending on destination, class of travel and frequent flyer status. The weight system is used for most destinations except for U.S./Canada and many Central and South America destinations. 

Multiple bags are permitted under the weight system. The maximum weight allowance is as follows:

  • Economy – 20kg is the maximum allowance.
  • Business – 30kg allowance per guest.  Paragon/Emerald and Skyteam Elite members receive an additional 20kf. Gold and Skyteam elite members receive an additional 10kg.

Valuables and other items needed in flight such as medication should always be packed in carry-on luggage.

 

Checked Baggage

Bulky Items

Guests carrying amounts greater than the free baggage allowance will be charged extra baggage fees. This includes oversized and specialty items such as surfboards, golf equipment, pet containers and skiing equipment.

Any bag or item that exceeds 158cm (62inches) but less than 203cm (80inches) will be charged an oversize fee. Checked bags for economy class between 23kg and 32kg will be charged an overweight fee.

Any bag weighing more than 32kg or larger than 203cm will not be accepted.

 

Bulky Items

Infant Baggage

Infants are given a checked bag allowance of 10kg plus one collapsible stroller or pram. Adults are also permitted one small personal item to take on board such as a diaper bag when travelling with an infant.

If space permits, a collapsible stroller or pram may also be taken in the cabin.


Restricted or Dangerous Goods

Dangerous goods are items that could cause harm to individuals and threaten the safety of the flight. These items are restricted at all times and must never be placed in cabin or checked luggage. These items include, but are not limited to, flammable liquids, gasses and solids, explosives, fireworks, weapons and ammunition, toxins and corrosives and magnetic items.

Check with your Flight Centre Travel Expert for a specific list of items that are banned and items that are permitted with special procedures (such as electric wheelchair batteries).

Check-in online or at the airport

The opening time of check-in counters may vary depending on the airport but it is recommended that passengers arrive at the check-in desk 3 hours before departure.

Web check-in is also available between 3 and 24 hours before departure. Guests on a booking with 9 or more passengers and those on code-share operated flights will not have access to online check-in. Dynasty is the introductory level and offers a convenient way to earn miles for award travel and status upgrade. The additional three program tiers and just some of the benefits are:

Gold
