Air Vanuatu’s Economy Class combines a value oriented product with friendly service on its flights from Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland to Port Vila and throughout the Vanuatu islands. The modern Boeing 737-800 aircraft is used for international flights and features 162 economy seats with a seat pitch of 30 inches. Seats feature four way adjustable head rests and many audio channels to choose from.

Entertainment: Air Vanuatu International flights feature informational videos with cultural and sightseeing topics.  Videos are screened on overhead TV screens which are placed approximately every 4 rows. There are also several audio channels to choose from with controls for channel selection at each seat.

Food and Beverage: Guests flying between Vanuatu and Australia or New Zealand are served a complimentary meal or snack with a complete beverage and bar service. The service on flights between Vanuatu and Fiji include a snack box and as always, a complimentary beverage and bar service. Special meal requests are available on flights to and from Australia and New Zealand only and must be requested at least 72 hours in advance. Halal and Kosher meals require 14 days advance notice.   

Business Class

The most comfortable way to fly, Air Vanuatu’s Boeing aircraft features 8 business class seats with an enjoyable 39 inch seat pitch for generous leg room. The extra wide seat offers a comfortable space in which to stretch out and relax and the ample seat recline adds to the experience. With a full meal service and interesting destination specific video entertainment, the flight time will pass by all too quickly. 

Entertainment: Video entertainment is provided on shared overhead screens in the front of the Business Class section. Programming consists of informational topics covering Vanuatu’s rich culture and many fascinating tourist sites. There are also a number of audio channels available at each seat with various types of music featured.

Food and Beverage: Business Class guests enjoy a premium meal service, served on linen covered tray table. Enjoy a selection of mains, accompanied with a glass of wine and finish off with a delectable dessert. Special meals such as vegetarian, diabetic and gluten free must be ordered a minimum of 72 hours in advance. Kosher and Halal meals are also available but require a minimum 14 day advance notice.

Carry-on

Air Vanuatu permits one piece of cabin baggage in economy class. The maximum weight of this item is 7kg and must be within the size limitations of 48cm length x 34cm height x 23cm depth.

Business class guests are allowed 2 pieces, each with a maximum weight of 7kg. Size limitations are 56cm x 36cm x 23cm.

Carry On Baggage

Checked

The checked baggage allowance varies depending on the class of travel. The following are guidelines for Economy and Business Class.

Economy: A total of 23kg in checked baggage is permitted for all international flights with the exception of Noumea, Nadi and Suva. Flights to Noumea are restricted to a 20kg weight allowance while Nadi and Suva may check up to 30kg.

Business: Guests travelling in Business Class may check multiple bags up to a maximum total weight of 30kg.

Always make sure that your bag is properly labelled with your name and contact details.

 

Checked Baggage

Bulky Items

Items in excess of the free baggage allowance are charged at a per kilogram rate. See your Flight Centre Travel Consultant for the exact rate for your departure city.

The maximum weight of any one item is 32kg. Items greater than 32kg must be shipped as freight.

Infant Baggage

A 10kg checked baggage allowance is given to infants and adults accompanying an infant are permitted to take on board one small carry-on item containing food and /or nappies.

Infants are classified as children under the age of two.


Restricted or Dangerous Goods

There are restrictions on the types of materials or substances that may be carried on an aircraft. For safety and security reasons, items such as explosives and fireworks, flammable liquids, gasses and solids, poisons, corrosives, infectious substances and toxic materials are banned from flying at all times.

Perfumes and hairspray may be carried as long as the amount is less than 0.5 litres or 0.5kg.

Counter check-in is easy as can be

Air Vanuatu check-in counters open two and a half hours before departure and 3 hours prior in New Zealand. Passengers must present a valid passport with necessary visas for those countries which require one as well as a confirmed return ticket or onward ticket if not a resident of the country visited.

Earn Qantas points when you fly with Air Vanuatu

While Air Vanuatu does not maintain its own frequent flyer program, points and status credits can be earned and redeemed for members of the Qantas Frequent Flyers program. Members will receive points on all flights with an Air Vanuatu flight number. Reward travel is also available on Air Vanuatu flights and may be booked directly with Qantas.
