Loisirs -Economy

Long-haul travel in Air Austral’s Loisirs class is made pleasant in the airlines well-equipped fleet of Boeing 777’s. Loisirs class ticket holders can enjoy the perks of online check-in and seat selection, while onboard the Economy cabin seats recline up to 115 degrees, with a pitch of 83cm, complete with a pillow and blanket for added comfort. A range of magazines and newspapers is available, as well as plenty of On-Demand movies, games and audio entertainment on 23cm seatback screens. Beverage service, including alcohol, is available throughout the journey as well as the in-flight menu including entrées, hot mains, deserts and cheeses, plus refreshments before landing.

Confort – Premium Economy:

Air Austral’s Confort class passengers enjoy plush beige leather seats, reclinable up to 128 degrees, with a roomier seat pitch of 96cm. Each seat comes with its own individual power socket and reading lamp, as well as a personal On-Demand entertainment screen of 26cm with a good range of movies and audio entertainment. Magazines and newspapers are also provided along with a travel kit with toothbrush, sleep mask, toiletries, blanket and pillow. Welcome drinks are served, plus a gourmet 3-course meal with drinks during the flight, and breakfast or snacks before arrival. Additional Confort Class benefits include use of airport lounges prior to departure, and the convenience of priority check-in and expedited baggage on arrival.

Club Austral – Business Class:

For the ultimate silver service on Air Austral, Club Austral Class provides priority check-in, priority bag collection on arrival, and access to the airlines exclusive airport lounges. Onboard, experience comfortable leather seats reclinable up to 180 degrees, creating generous 186cm beds. Club Austral passengers enjoy personalised service from a welcome drink of champagne to a business class menu of entrees, hot mains, deserts and cheeses to choose from, with breakfast or light snacks also served before arrival. Large 26cm On-Demand personal entertainment screens with a range of movies, music and games help pass the time, and a choice of magazines and newspapers are also available. Pillows, blankets and a travel kit with sleep mask and amenities provide extra comfort during the journey.

Carry-on

Whichever class you’re flying in, Air Austral carry-on luggage allowance allocates one piece per passenger with a maximum weight of 10kg and sum of measurements no more than 115cm. In addition to this one small personal item such as camera, handbag, laptop can also be taken onboard.

Checked

If you’re travelling in Loisirs class, you can check baggage with a weight up to 25kg. For Confort class this is increased to 35kg, and Club Austral can take up to 40kg of checked luggage. No one piece of checked baggage must exceed 32 kg in weight (30kg max for flights to Thailand). Generally you can check 2 pieces as long as the designated free weight allowance is not exceeded, or excess baggage fees will apply. Members of Air Austral’s Frequent Flyer programme, Capricorn, can redeem points for excess baggage allowance.

Bulky Items

Passengers wishing to fly with bulky items such as sports equipment must notify the airline before they travel. Sports equipment can travel with you as checked in luggage onboard Air Austral, as long as the sum of its dimensions fall within the airlines guidelines. Windsurfers, surfboards, and bikes are included in checked luggage allowance, and excess fees of up to 75 Euros will be charged if the standard weight allowance is exceeded. The maximum length of sports equipment allowed is 180cm, with the sum of total measurements capped at 300cm.

Infant Baggage

When you travel with an infant, Air Austral provides a baggage allowance of 10kg so you can bring all the necessary baby items for a long journey such as clothing, nappies, bottles and toys. A foldable stroller can also be conveniently brought along and dropped right at the gate when you board the plane.

Restricted or Dangerous Goods

Some materials are prohibited onboard Air Austral flights, including explosives, compressed gas, inflammable items, toxic materials, household chemicals such as bleach or washing powder. In your carry-on luggage certain items are not allowed, including firearms, knives and offensive weapons, explosives, corrosives, and straight razors or scissors. Liquids, aerosols, gels and pastes are restricted in carry-on bags, and can only be taken onboard in transparent containers with a maximum of 100ml, and carried in a clear plastic zip-lock bag of 20cm x 20cm or less (one bag per passenger). Some exceptions to this rule include liquid medication, baby food and duty free purchases with visible proof of purchase carried in sealed bag.

Capricorn Fidelity Card

With Air Austral’s Capricorn Fidelity program, members earn points every time they fly. It’s free to join, and travel points can be redeemed for award tickets, companion tickets, upgrades, and excess baggage allowance.

Premium Capricorn Fidelity Card

Members of the loyalty program who earn more than 12,500 travel points in the airline’s accounting year (qualification is reviewed every March and September) will receive Premium status. Additional benefits include a free upgrade on one flight during the year, priority baggage handling, check-in and waitlisting, as well as 10kg extra baggage allowance. Premium members also gain use of the airport lounges at Reunion and Paris, and in other Air Austral destinations around the world.
