Travel is a competitive and demanding industry. Clients can be challenging or the weather can wreak havoc on your plans and you need to be able to think on your feet to make alternative travel arrangements. 

You’ll work with suppliers like airlines, accommodation providers, insurance brokers and forex providers. You’ll learn about their products, prices and when a client walks into your shop you’ll be able to offer them helpful advice and that show-stopping smile.

Becoming a Travel Sales Consultant

Our Travel Sales Consultants are the face of Flight Centre. It’s a huge responsibility, representing the brand to clients and suppliers, but it’s also incredibly rewarding (in more ways than one *wink). As you learn the ropes of the travel industry and work with clients and suppliers all over the world you’ll be trained by the Learning Centre. Depending on the store location you may be required to work a 7 day rotating roster, including some late night shifts and weekends. We want someone with spunk, an out of the box thinker who can solve problems innovatively. We want someone with the ambition to be the best and a desire to see the world.  Of course this stuff helps too:

  • Experience in a target driven environment
  • Being a confident sales person
  • Great people skills and outstanding customer service
  • Having travelled extensively
  • Being passionate, persistent and ambitious
  • A good academic record (an undergraduate degree is an advantage)
  • Strong computer literacy
