Thailand dismisses Zika scare
The Tourism Authority of Thailand has confirmed that there has not been an outbreak of the Zika virus in Thailand.
Following rumours that several cases of the Zika virus had been reported in Thailand, Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health released a statement saying that in the recent confirmed case of a 20-year-old Thai man who was diagnosed with Zika at Bangkok’s Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital, he was declared free from the virus and was allowed to leave the hospital.
The statement also confirmed that there has been no report of death from the Zika virus in Thailand.
The Ministry has advised the public not to panic.
