New Zealand expects aftershocks
Following a series of large earthquakes in the Marlborough and Canterbury areas of South Island yesterday (November 14), New Zealand’s Ministry of Civil Defence & Emergency Management has warned that there could be aftershocks.
The Ministry of Defence has cancelled the tsunami warning but has advised people to watch out for fallen power lines and broken gas lines. Travellers are to stay out of damaged areas and to listen to the radio for any emergency information and instructions.
