Australia: airport strike disruption
A strike by Customs officials in Australia’s airports will take place over a two-day period, according to the Australian Government’s Department of Border Control and Immigration. The strike started on Monday, September 21 and will continue until September 23.
Industrial action already affecting airports in Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Cairns and Townsville will continue on September 22.
Airports in Melbourne, Brisbane, Darwin, Gold Coast, Cairns, Adelaide and Perth (International Terminal) will be affected the following day, September 23.
The Department encourages travellers to plan ahead for delays and to arrive early at the airports.
