Christmas markets

The European Christmas markets are simply spectacular and during November and December these markets are on show for all travellers.  Enjoy seven nights touring through Vienna, Salzburg, Munich, Innsbruck, Lucerne and Zurich.

Pretty Christmas Lights of Lucerne

Explore the Ringstrasse during your festive sightseeing tour of Vienna. Your local guide will show you the Hofburg which was the former home of the Hapsburgs. You will also see the Parliament, City Hall and the grand State Opera House. Visit the ‘Christkindlmarkt’ and buy handmade wooden toys, seasonal gifts, delicious gingerbread and warming Glühwein from traditional decorated wooden stalls.

Drive along the scenic Danube Valley to the beautiful city of Salzburg and visit the enchanting Christmas market. See the beautifully manicured Mirabell Gardens, Mozart’s birthplace and the Old City on your guided walking tour. Then cross fairytale Alpine landscapes to Munich, capital of Bavaria.

In Munich you can admire the Marienplatz with its impressive Town Hall and ornate Glockenspiel. Spend the rest of your day enjoying the festive spirit at the Christmas market. Consider a visit to a famous beer hall and experience the warmth and hospitality for which this city is renowned.

Visit King Ludwig’s castle. Standing on a rugged hilltop and set against dramatic snow-capped mountains, this Gothic Revival building is every inch the fairytale castle. Visit Oberammergau, where the seven-hour long Passion Play is performed every 10 years. Admire the 15th century Golden Roof at Innsbruck. Visit the Christmas Market in the Old Town Square and immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere.

Travel through alpine landscapes, across Liechtenstein and into Switzerland. Explore the Christmas market in Zurich, held inside the main train station - the biggest indoor festive market in Europe.
