Amsterdam, Netherlands

It’s no surprise that amazing Amsterdam is on this list. Known as one of the most liberal cities in the world, it’s a mecca for LGBTQ travellers in search of vibey cafes, fascinating culture, awesome nightlife and a super welcoming culture. Whether you want to dance the night away, sip fabulous cocktails or simply relax in a laid-back bar, Amsterdam's gay and lesbian scene never disappoints. Look for the rainbow flag to easily spot gay venues. Visit the momentous Homomonument. And swing by the Pink Point LGBT information kiosk for some handy tips on the top gay spots around the city.

Berlin, Germany

With its huge array of campy bars and gay parties, queer-oriented accommodation, film festivals and massive Pride events all year round, Berlin has easily earned its spot on the list of top LGBT travel destinations. Check out Nollendorfplatz in the "rainbow neighbourhood" of Schöneberg – considered the centre of the lesbian and gay scene in Berlin since the 1920s. Head to the gay museum - Schwules Museum – for a sobering look into Berlin’s gay past under Nazi rule. You can even book a number of walking tours that take you to all the top gay hot spots and places of interest in the city.
