Explore the landscapes of Sossusvlei, Namibia

22 August 2012

Tucked away between some of the largest dunes in the world lies the most breathtaking landscapes Namibia has to offer. The beautiful Tsauchab River dissolves into the white clay layers at the foot the larger than life Namibian dunes. Sossusvlei displays all the colours of the spectrum.

From orange to buttermilk gleaming from the dunes and colder shades of blues and greys from the surrounding mountains, all complemented with the effervescent greens and yellows from the grasslands. This clay pan is situated in central Namibia within the Namib-Naukluft National Park.

The vegetation might be spare, but still attracts a vast number of wildlife including the springbok, oryx, ostriches and even flamingos.
