Cape Town, a.k.a. “the Mother City”, is not only one of the most celebrated places in South Africa but in the world.  Its magical blend of city and nature attract people from all corners, be it for a laid back luxury holiday or an adventurous outdoor getaway. The city also has a great artistic soul with a large creative community and is the first African city to boast the title of “World Design Capital”.

What makes Cape Town such a desirable holiday destination is its remarkable mix of opposites. There is something for anyone and everyone. The city is a vibrant and buzzing metropolis teeming with energy. Cape Town proudly shows of its title as “Tavern of the Seas” with night clubs and bars open well into the morning hours. There is a plethora of indoor and outdoor music/art festivals taking place all year through and its melting pot of cultures translate into a confluence of multi-national zest. There are many world-class restaurant serving freshly caught fish and quaint cafés, each with its own unique atmosphere.

On a more natural note, Cape Town is flanked by breathtaking natural beauty. Table Mountain, one of the seven natural wonders of the world, sits on one side. It is host to a large variety of endemic flora and fauna and provides outdoor experiences for both the experienced and inexperienced hiker. On the other side is Cape Town’s golden beaches and blue ocean, the perfect place to spend a lazy day. Then you can take a short drive from Cape Town and before you know it, you will be surrounded by the scenic Cape Winelands. Here you can spend the day tasting some of the world’s most acclaimed wines while enjoying mouth-watering dishes. Then as the day comes to an end, watch as the never-ending landscape of hills are bathed in a golden sunset. The weather compliments these natural attractions perfectly with one of most comfortable climates to be found in the world. Winters average around a mildly cold 15 °C while summers are around a perfect 22 °C.

This barely scratches the surface of Cape Town’s abundance of attractions. Words can simply not do it justice. You need to see it and experience it to truly know why Cape Town is such awe-inspiring destination. Don’t waste any more time and come visit one of the greatest cities on Earth. You will have a hard time not enjoying yourself in “The Mother City”.
