Grahamstown, Eastern Cape

29 June to 9 July 2017

The Grahamstown National Arts Festival is a firm favourite with festival goers from every corner of the country. Whatever type of entertainment you’re into, you’ll find it here. Laugh it up with famous stand-up comedy acts. Soak up some culture with mind-bending art installations, incredible street art, amazing musical acts and so much more. After a wild day of non-stop entertainment, catch your breath at a chilled out Sundowner Concert, before heading back out into the festival fray.



Knysna, Western Cape

7 to 16 July 2017

Whether you’re in it for the races or just there for the oysters and bubbles, the Knysna Oyster Festival is bound to be an awesome experience. This usually quiet coastal town explodes for 10 days in July when thousands of people flock to its shores for eating, drinking, partying and adventuring. The festival programme has a non-stop line up of exciting events including fun fairs, wine tasting, oyster braais, live entertainment, champagne sampling and other feasts for the senses.



Robertson, Western Cape

1 to 4 June 2017

It’s not called the Wacky Wine Weekend for nothing! Sample some of the finest vintages that the Breede Valley has to offer, with over 50 wine merchants opening their cellars for this fun-filled festival. Play your cards right and you could even be invited for a private barrel tasting of the top-shelf stuff. Head to famous favourites such as Van Loveren and Bon Courage for a party vibe, then try your hand at the quirky cheese rolling competition.  Entrance is R150 and comes with a swanky tasting glass, hamper bag, festival programme and bottle of water. Dullstroom, Mpumalanga

3 to 5 July 2017


Celebrated as one of the 10 Best Small Towns in SA, Dullstroom packs a big punch when it comes to their winter festival. Think Christmas in July with fairy lights, festive vibes and plenty of mulled wine to keep you toasty. The whole town turns out for this event with great food stalls, outdoor activities and art exhibits. You won’t have to look hard to find a whisky or wine tasting taking place either. The main event kicks off on the Village Green with a rock concert featuring some of SA’s best performers rocking out into the wee hours.



Nelspruit, Mpumalanga

5 to 8 July 2017


Innibos Kunstefees has become the go-to stomping ground for festival goers across SA, with over 100 000 revellers rocking up every year. Live performances are the main event, with over 2000 up-and-coming musicians, artists and actors strutting their stuff throughout the 4-day festival. Head to the vibey restaurant and beer garden for something delicious to eat and a cold beer or three. Don’t forget to pick up a few crafty mementoes at the many art stalls. Plus get lucky in one of the many competitions with cool prizes that take place every day!



Franschhoek, Western Cape

15 to 16 July 2017


Grab your beret, fill your glass and get ready for a French affair at the Franschhoek Bastille Festival. Sip, swirl and swig some of the valley’s finest wines. Fill up on delicious cheeses, then get your game on with a barrel-rolling contest or round of boulle. Swing by the Village Market for comfort food with a touch of French flair. Then wash it down with an ice-cold beer from the local brewery, while live local acts set the scene.
