If you want to be prepared to make the most of what Thailand has to offer, you’ll need to take the right provisions with you. However, leave a little space in your bag so that you can fill it up with loads of interesting memorabilia, clothes, gadgets and more when you come home.
You’re going to be in the sun a lot on your Thailand holiday, and there is nothing worse than ruining your holiday on the first day by getting sun burnt to a crisp. Take precautions as soon as you step off the plane with some good factor 30 sun cream for your face and body. There’s no need to rush your tan, it will come. Some after sun lotion wouldn’t hurt either, just in case.
The right clothes
In Thailand the sun is HOT! No matter what time of year you go, you’ll always find that the temperature usually stays between 28 and 34 degrees. You’ll usually find that you wear a lot of the same things over and over, like sarongs, board shorts, vests, and bikinis, depending if you’re male or female of course. But saying that, in Thailand anything goes, so go wild! Don’t forget your slops, a good pair of walking shoes and of course sunglasses and a hat, which as you’ll discover, will always be welcome.
You’re going to want to capture the countless moments of fun and excitement, so don’t forget your camera. Your phone will work just fine, but if you can, make sure to get a waterproof action camera as well, because you’re going to be spending a lot of time in the water.
Loads of fresh air in your bag
Make sure you leave enough space (and weight allowance) in your bag for all the awesome bits and pieces you’ll be bringing back with you. Bangkok is a haven for shoppers, while the markets you find in most of the towns are filled with great deals on souvenirs, clothes, gadgets and more.
A Thailand holiday is all about the beach, swimming, riding jet skis, kayaks, various boats, ferries and more. Pack a few Ziploc bags so that when you’re out and about you can keep all your valuables dry.
Without a doubt you’re going to want to charge your iPad, camera, phone, tooth brush and other electronic devices, so make sure you have an adapter for all eventualities with a universal/international adapter. You never really know what plug point you’re going to find here!
Travel Insurance & other documents
Set off on your journey with a little peace of mind and make sure all your valuables are insured while visiting Thailand. It’s also a very good idea to get personal insurance in case of an emergency.
You don’t want to hold back on your holiday just in case, so get covered. Travel with insurance details, copies of your passport, driver’s licences (local and international) and info on your accommodation. It’s better to be safe rather than sorry, and you can get on with enjoying yourself to the max!
Every day you’re going to be out and about exploring, having fun and discovering loads of new experiences, so travel lightly and easily during the day with a comfortable backpack to hold all your necessary items such as towels, sunblock, water and cameras.
