6 hidden gems to discover in the North West Province

The North West Province of South Africa boasts beautiful mountains, expansive bush-veld, an extinct volcano, and luxurious world class hotels. It is also home to some of the most spectacular wildlife in South Africa, with cheetahs, lions, elephants, and thousands of other species waiting to be discovered. These are the more well-known gems of this amazing South African province, but there is still plenty more to see, do and discover!

Sun City

As the North-West Province’s biggest attraction, Sun City isn’t exactly hidden but it’s definitely a gem. Besides the Lost City and Valley of Waves, you have access to a range of activities, including golf, zip-lining, bike trails and cultural village tours. Originally constructed in 1973, the Harties Cableway makes for a great day out. Catch a cable car up the mountain for incredible views which overlook the Hartbeespoort Dam and the Magaliesberg Mountains. From the top you can enjoy the breath-taking views while enjoying a delightful lunch with family and friends, before wandering around the top of the mountain and taking in the beauty of the North West Province.

The little town of Groot Marico is a charming place to visit and offers you a unique experience that is fun for the whole family.
