1. Konnopke’s Imbiss
In the mood for something traditional? This all-time favourite restaurant has been serving up budget-friendly German grub since the 1930s. Located beneath the railway tracks in Prenzlauer Berg, Konnopke’s Imbiss is the place to go for delicious classics like Bratwurst, Boulette and the fast-food favourite currywurst – old-school pork style or vegan friendly.
There’s a good reason this super popular kebab stand in Kreuzberg has so many plenty of hungry people patiently standing Iine. This is where you’ll find the best Doner (kebabs), freshest ingredients and tastiest sauces in town. Despite it’s amazing popularity, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the low prices.
With a name like Burgermeister, it doesn’t take much to guess what’s on the menu. But what is surprising is how great the prices are. For around 150 bucks you can get a burger, fries and a beer! You can choose from 6 types of burgers but the ‘meistaburger’ with mustard, onion, bacon and barbecue sauce is rumoured to be the best. Sit down at the crowded tables or grab a bite and go. Queues are generally long but it’s worth the wait.
Juicy chicken, crispy skin, fresh fries and tasty sauces – is your mouth watering yet? Hühnerhaus (Hen House) is loved for having the best chicken in the city. This humble little kiosk has queues around the corner, but that’s no at all surprising with food and prices this good.
No restaurant list would be complete without a pizza joint in the mix. Check out laid-back Stranero, known for their fresh pizzas with crispy thin bases and all the traditional toppings you love. Service is super friendly and so are the prices. Say no more!
