What are the must-see attractions?
People rarely walk too far in LA but the three and a half miles that are worth strolling is the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Just follow the stars embedded in the sidewalk and see sights like Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, the flamboyant cinema where the hand and footprints of the silver screen are set in concrete. The Hollywood History Museum is a great place to find out more about the cinema industry with costumes and props from many famous films. LA isn’t all about celluloid, there’s also a huge amount of fine art on display at The Hammer Museum of Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Museum of Contemporary Art
What else is there to do?
Head along Santa Monica Boulevard and you’ll end up in Santa Monica itself, a village of cafes, bars, restaurants and shops. Its wide sandy beach is home of its famous fishing pier and Muscle Beach. This is the place to see sunsets.
