"I was very skeptical about booking flights through an agency as I have been an absolute wreck the past week or two and the last thing I feel capable of doing is speaking to a complete stranger.

Over my 18 years, I have had 2 travel agents who were able to manage me- only by the grace of God… Many, did not make the cut- MANY. Jacques is an excellent company with DH and EG. " Sometimes in life things go well, everything works out the way it is supposed to and everyone is happy.
Other times things don’t go so well. The best laid plans spiral totally out of control, things are left to the last minute, utter chaos and panic take over and stress levels reach epic proportions.
I had a week like that recently. Actually to be honest, it was an entire month. The launch event we were working on grew bigger and bigger by the day until our team was totally overloaded with work and precious time and money were wasted just trying to put out fires and keep everyone happy.
It was in the midst of this very stressful, chaotic time in my life that I first called your Travel Expert Gerrit Du Plesis to see if he could help me arrange last-minute flights. Not only did Gerrit sort me out with the flights, but he worked for an hour and a half after his branch had closed on a Saturday afternoon.
It didn’t end there though. More requests started pouring in for flights, changes to flights and everything else you can imagine that a) involved flights and b) was completely unreasonable.
Gerrit, ably assisted by Jacolene Louw when he wasn’t available, was like a calm oasis in the middle of the storm of the century. Thanks to Gerrit and Jacolene, I didn’t go mad and shoot myself. Between the two of them they made miracles happen and stopped my blood pressure from rocketing into stroke-territory.
I am sending this email for the express purpose of telling you two things – firstly that you have an exceptional Travel Expert in Gerrit, a man who not only keeps his cool under pressure, but who does it with phenomenally good humour and a can-do attitude that you really don’t come across often.
And secondly that I think Gerrit deserves either a raise, or a promotion, or a free holiday, or a month off work or SOMETHING for being the efficient, organised and pragmatic person that he is, Jacolene too.
All jokes aside though, I was very impressed by both Gerrit and Jacolene and my only regret is that I didn’t write this email sooner.

" I called Zelda Folkus late on a Friday evening and told her I needed a flight to London and gave her a budget my husband
gave me for my 40th birthday gift. Nothing was too much trouble for Zelda who took all my details and
called me back to give me flights just slightly under budget. A week went by and my husband didn’t book tickets and when I called Zelda to find out if they were still available she told me we lost the flights, you could hear the disappointment in her voice as she knew how important the tickets were to me (I am going to see my sister and little niece) but she did the whole exercise for me again and then managed to get me a even cheaper flight. She even called me to follow up when we would be coming in and even remembered it was my birthday and wished me on the day!

We met Tiffany Rae through a referral and have been trying to plan a holiday since February this year. She immediately impressed us with her bubbly personality and great desire to make a dream come true. She gives the customer great attention and listens very well to what a customer wants. We have been to several other companies and simple requests by us were not considered by the consultant - they just did the bare minimum and produced quotes that were way off budget. Tiffany heard what we wanted and did her best to make it happen. She also makes everything simple and easy to understand. Her ability to place herself in our shoes was what made the difference for us. We got the same attention and service as clients who were paying R150 000 for trips. "I recently wanted to book a return ticket from East London to Cape Town for the month of April. I searched via the internet and thought that would be the easiest and cheapest way to book the flights. However, after searching and almost booking the flight that suited my budget the best, I decided to first call Flight Centre, Hemingways Mall.
I was assisted by a very friendly, very professional young lady who went out of her way to help me. I think she could determine from what I said, that I was still going to book via the internet. She continued to ask me very politely why I wanted to book via the internet and not through Flight Centre, as Flight Centre would be able to give me good prices, excellent service and also very conveniently since I'd be able to book through Flight Centre via an online link.
I thought it might be worth my while to give this professional, friendly, yet persistent young lady, Nadia Radcliffe, the opportunity to give me a quote. She went out of her way to find flights that suited my needs best at a much more convenient time and better priced than the tickets which I would have booked over the internet on the airlines' own web sites.

Een van die dames by Stellenbosch Square kantoor naamlik Marga du Toit het meeste van ons vlugte die afgelope jare gerëel. Sy is altyd baie vriendelik en ‘n mens sien daarna uit om die kantoor te besoek. Al die dames wat daar werk laat jou onmiddelik tuis voel as jy daar instap.
As jy daar aankom word jy op jou van aangespreek – dit wil nogal gedoen wees want daar kom sekerlik honderde mense na die kantoor. Marga het altyd ‘n glimlag en ‘n kwinkslag om jou te verwelkom. Sy is ongelooflik professioneel en doen jou bespreking in ‘n japtrap. As sy self nie weet watter hotel die beste opsie is nie bel sy iemand wat wel kennis het van die betrokke stad waarheen jy vlieg. As jy terugkeer van jou vakansie word jy geskakel en wil sy in detail weet hoe die hotel was en of ons tevrede was met die diens. Met ons laaste toer na Suid Amerika het ons ongelukkig a.g.v omstandighede buite ons beheer die toer moes kanselleer. Marga was net so teleurgesteld as wat ons was en het agter haar toonbank opgestaan en ons ‘n drukkie kom gee uit meegevoel. Ons het so ‘n vriendskap opgebou oor die tyd dat die gebaar vir my net gewys het wat ‘n mooi persoonlikheid sy het. Marga het onmiddelik rëelings getref vir die terugbetaling van ons hotel in Buenos Aires en ook die vliegtuigkaartjies by SAL. Sy het ons ook gehelp met ons vertoë aan TIC met ons eis vir ‘n gekanselleerde vlug .
Ongelukkig was hulle soos meeste van die tipe versekeraars nie bereid om enigiets terug te betaal nie aangesien ons redes vir die kansellasie nie voldoen aan hulle voorgeskrewe redes . My rede naamlik – ‘a Traumatic Event within 14 days prior to departure” het hulle nie vir my verduidelik hoekom dit nie aanvaarbaar is nie. Ek het toe gevra dat hulle tenminste die R6150 wat ek vir die nuttelose polis betaal het terugbetaal – natuurlik het dit nie gebeur nie. All our arrangements where finalised in 1 day after we had been struggling to get accommodation for Cape Town for our Anniversary. "I'd like to provide some feedback on the excellent service provided by one of your travel agents, Sonja van Staden. My daughter, Nicole McIntyre, and her family booked a Christmas holiday through Flight Centre in June. They were fortunate to have Sonja as their agent.
All arrangements were finalised in June, and the complete package, including the flights, visas and the accommodation at DisneyWorld was paid for at that time. Imagine their shock on Sunday evening, 8th December, when SAA was unable to locate their ETA visas and prevented them from boarding their flight. (I am still staggered at the fact that an SAA employee who is presumably trained, was unable to find the visas on line, when I found them in two minutes when I returned home that evening, unfortunately too late to help my daughter and son-in-law who forlornly watched as the doors were closed and the plane took off without them.)
Sonja was so on the ball that she discovered something was wrong before 7:30 am on Monday morning, and immediately contacted my daughter to assess the situation. Sonja further managed the situation all the way through to finalisation, keeping tabs on the status and progress, despite having to handle other bookings simultaneously in a busy Flight Centre. My daughter and son-law had to pay for the outward bound flights again, and as a result of having to wait for transferred funds to be cleared, had to take off for Washington without a ticket for one of their children for the connecting flight. Can you imagine the anxiety this engendered? They would not have been able to take to the air if they had not had the confidence that Sonja was on top of the situation, and was liaising with SAA while they were in transit. Sonja managed to arrange the ticket for my grand-daughter after the family had landed in a snowy Washington on Tuesday. All the way through this trauma Sonja kept in touch via e-mail and sms with my daughter and myself to reassure us that she was actively managing the booking.
I cannot overstate the professionalism and compassion displayed by Sonja throughout this whole debacle. She definitely went the extra mile for my family, and did so professionally and skillfully. She saved the day and my family are now enjoying the wonderful holiday that they have been dreaming of for three years. Without Sonja's intervention, this could so easily have had a very unhappy ending."

"I would like to bring to your attention the above named person. We have used Matthys on a number of occasions and he has always been extremely professional and through in his work.
On Wednesday 20 November, I received a telephone call from my son in the UK, who needed my help in a hurry. His wife had just given birth to a three month premature boy and they recently moved into a new house and had not yet unpacked.
I explained the situation to Matthys and asked him for his help, bearing in mind there was a shop full of people at the time.
We had my Mother over from the UK on holiday, so my wife could not come with me to England. "Words can not describe how thankful I am that there are still people like Blanch Rigelnik from the Rosenpark, Beliville Branch in Cape Town.
I am a SA school teacher in Thailand. I needed to book a flight for my 16 year old daughter to come and visit me during December. I was dealing with a Travel Agent here in Thailand and the only flight he could get for me as all was booked out, was from Jhb to Nairobi and then to Bangkok.
Blanch had previously booked a flight for me to Thailand so I thought I would contact her again. At first she sent me 3 different options of flights, for my daughter to Thailand. They were great flights but it was way more expensive than the flight to Nairobi and unfortunately, after all she did I had to turn her down. But this Nairobi flight was bothering me and after a few days I contacted Blanch again. Once again poor Blanch was searching for a flight for me. The very next day I received and email from Blanch, she had found me a flight, with a stop over in Hong Kong instead of Nairobi. I was so happy.
I told the travel agent here about this flight and he contacted Blanch. Together the 2 of them sorted it out for me and within 3 days this flight was booked and paid.
Without Blanch Rigelnik, this would not have been possible. She went more than the extra mile to help me and I thank her from the bottom of my heart. Once a year I book a flight to Thailand, from now on I will only be making use of Blanch from Flight Center.

"I would like to thank Amy Thomas for arranging a WONDERFUL holiday for my now fiancée and me to Thailand.
From the time I asked Amy about your 7 day special to Phuket she was most helpful. First, I wanted to add two days in Bangkok. Amy suggested Siam@Siam Design Hotel which was everything it promised on the web. I asked Amy to get the hotel to arrange something for Mikki(my fiancée) on the day we arrived (13th July) as this was her birthday. The hotel arranged a beautiful cake with the words Happy Birthday expertly piped onto the plate – at no charge!!!!!
I then asked if Amy could recommend an alternative hotel to The Old Phuket and she came up with a special for Mom Tri’s Villa Royale. What an experience. I have stayed in many five star hotels around the world but I have never experienced an hotel like Mom Tri’s. We had an ocean view suite with a well-equipped lounge, couch on the verandah and the widest bed I have ever seen. The bathroom had a separate bath and shower. The hotel gave us a complimentary dinner and spa treatment on top of this. Every night the bed was turned down and was covered with orchids as well as the standard chocolates. On some evenings there were even long stemmed roses. Every afternoon there was a Thai treat..macaroons, cake etc.
The World Travel Service was responsible for the transfers between airports and hotels these were seamless and well organised. They also provided a representative at each of the hotels to assist us with anything we may require as well as tours. The tours we booked through Rio in Bangkok and Ting in Phuket were great. In fact Mikki and I got engaged on one of the tours.
We really enjoyed our holiday and I would like to express our sincere thanks to Flight Centre (and particularly Amy)for arranging the best holiday we have ever had!" Rob Fry
"This is a short note to point out the exceptional service provided by Zay Ferguson at your Bedford Centre branch. The French air controller´s strike last week caused a 24 hour delay in my departure from Marrakech, and ensured that I missed my connecting flight home.
While teetering on the brink of mental and physical exhaustion, with the uncertainty of how and when I´d get back to Johannesburg, it was an enormous relief to have Zay step in and negotiate my passage home. By all accounts it took over three hours of telephone calls between the two airlines involved, but she managed to secure me a seat without incurring any additional costs.

After much advising and discussions, Nadia booked a Contiki tour to Europe for my son, Thashen, who left with Etihad for Amsterdam on 28 June 2013. He was excited as he was looking forward to his 21st birthday present!
My son arrived in Amsterdam on Friday, 28th without his luggage, which contained all his clothes and travel items! From the time that we informed Nadia of the incident, she showed tremendous empathy and understanding for his situation. This immediately galvanized her into action and she tirelessly contacted the airlines and baggage handling departments along the route, to try to determine when the bag would be delivered to my son.
Nadia contacted us many times each day, to inform us of progress and to enquire if we had made progress in determining the status of the bag. She also advised on buying clothes and toiletries in the mean time.
The bag was eventually sent to Tepel Airport in Berlin and my son took a taxi from his hotel to fetch it. He was finally re-united with his bag at about 21h00 on Tuesday night, almost exactly the same time that Nadia called to enquire about the status.
Flight Center is privileged to have a very professional yet extremely caring Nadia to represent your company and we are truly richer for having met and interacted with her.
